Kiteboarding in Brazil: Ilha Do Guajiru Kite Camp Recap – October 2025

October 2025 brought one of our most memorable kite camps yet. This time, we headed to Ilha Do Guajiru — a destination that had been on our list for a while, and one that absolutely delivered from the very first session. With 15 guests joining us for 10 days of wind, water, and good vibes, it’s safe to say this was a camp we’ll be talking about for years to come.

Why Ilha Do Guajiru Is Perfect for Kiteboarders

If you’re looking for the ideal spot to progress your kiteboarding in Brazil, Ilha Do Guajiru checks Almost every box. The lagoon is the real star of the show — calm, shallow, and forgiving, it creates a genuinely friendly environment where progression happens fast.

Intermediate and Advanced Riders: Once you’re ready to push your limits, the open water delivers. Our guests worked hard on their jumping technique throughout the week, and the conditions rewarded them for it.

Progression Was the Name of the Game

This camp had some of the most visible progression we’ve ever witnessed. The standout story? Julia. On Day 1, she was brand new to the sport — nervous, excited, and figuring out her kite on the beach. By the end of Day 10, she was riding independently. Watching that transformation over the course of the camp was one of those moments that reminds you exactly why we do this.

But Julia wasn’t alone. Nearly everyone in the group made meaningful jumps in their riding — whether it was nailing a cleaner takeoff, getting more hang time, or simply feeling more confident and in control on the water. Confidence was the big win for this group, and it showed in every session.

The 15km Downwinder

No kite camp is complete without at least one epic adventure on the water, and this year we delivered. Mid-week, the whole group tackled a 15km downwinder along the coast — wind in our favor, good speed, and stunning scenery the whole way. It was one of those sessions that pushes everyone a little outside their comfort zone and bonds a group together in a way that’s hard to replicate on land. Everyone finished buzzing.

Life at Pousada Nômade do Kite

When we weren’t on the water, we were living very well at Pousada Nômade do Kite. The food and drinks were, simply put, outstanding. We ate way too much seafood — fresh, local, and absolutely delicious — and nobody was complaining. The pousada has a warmth and character that makes it feel less like accommodation and more like a home base for the week.

Midway through the trip, we paused the kiteboarding briefly for something equally important: Julien’s birthday. The celebration was exactly what you’d want — great people, great food, great drinks, and plenty of laughs. It was one of those spontaneous camp moments that ends up being a highlight of the whole trip.

A Group to Remember

Fifteen guests, ten days, one lagoon, and more laughs than we can count. This group had an incredible energy from day one — supportive of each other, eager to learn, and ready to make the most of every session and every meal. It’s a reminder that the community around kiteboarding is one of its greatest gifts.

What’s Next?

.We’re already deep in planning mode for our next two camps in Cumbuco, kicking off on October 24th and November 14th — and they’re going to be special.

Expect epic downwinders along Brazil’s wild coastline, perfect lagoon sessions, sunset BBQs, and delicious meals cooked on site in our brand-new private houses.

2026 is going to be something special. Don’t miss it.
